FAQs
Feel free to contact us if you can't find the answer to your question...
Don't we need to be face to face for it to be safe and effective?
Prior to 2020, I would probably have said 'yes' but that was only because I'd never taught online before.
Teaching, especially online, is definitely a skill. Your verbal communication as an instructor must be excellent, your ability to engage your participants and create connection and motivate is key, you must observe with an extra eagle eye and know how to help your participants set themselves up for a great experience.
I've put A LOT of time and effort into this because I don't want any of my clients to have anything less than an amazing experience. It also helps that I was an English teacher in a former life!
I have an injury/health condition etc and won't be able to do a generic course or class. Can you help me?
Absolutely. In all our self-guided courses, I provide at least two options for every movement, exercise and stretch to cater for different abilities. If you need more help though, please email directly and we'll tell you how to modify to work around your situation or provide you with updated videos if necessary.
In our Live Classes I catch up with everyone at the beginning of the session so I can modify the content for you. As a regular member, I'll make sure I provide these modifications, even in classes you're not attending, so that you can access all on-demand classes safely.
In these circumstances, 1-1 coaching is the ideal option because everything is tailored around you
I've had a c-section. Is this suitable for me?
Sure. In both out self-guided post natal programs, we outline some of the differences in recovery for a c-section delivery. If you join us in live classes I'll make those differences clear and of course in a 1-1 program it's all about you!
I'm in Trimester 1; what's the best option for me?
If self-guided is your preference, I would recommend our 'Pre Pregnancy and Post Natal Plus' program as no modifications are required at this early stage of pregnancy. Go for the Beginner Course if you are brand new to Pilates or don't do regular exercise. Otherwise, you could go on to our Intermediate program.
If you want to do Live Classes, our Mixed Ability classes would suit you but you are of course welcome to start attending pregnancy classes if you'd like to 'get into the groove' with other mums-to-be!
I'm trying to conceive through IVF; is it ok for me to do Pilates?
There is no medical evidence to suggest that exercise negatively impacts chances of successful conception either naturally or with IVF. If anything, appropriate exercise is encouraged due to the multitude of health benefits. The best thing to do is speak with your doctor and gain their advice before joining us; just to put your mind at rest.
When are the Live Classes held?
Classes are based on UK time and our schedule can be found the 'Live & On-Demand' Course page. We are always looking to expand and improve our schedule so do let us know what days and times you are looking for and we'll see if we can help.
